Phonetically “k-joy-ah” is a Brazilian expression for “what beauty.” Joia is also the Portuguese word for jewelry. My name is Karen Dickey and I find joy in creating these one-of-a-kind pieces that are designed to mesmerize, intrigue and draw the eye. Using rare vintage glass beads and charms collected from all over the world, I weave together jewelry spun with gorgeous color and depth. I have always been fascinated by the lushness and the variety of color in glass beads. I take great pleasure in linking all these lovely little bits and pieces of color together into something beautiful, magical and even whimsical.
